June 13th, 2022: Gregory Vajda Appointed Principal Conductor of Hungary's Savaria Symphony Orchestra

Gregory Vajda is named the new Principal Conductor of the Savaria Symphony in Szombathely, Western Hungary. Vajda’s tenure will start in August 2022, for a period of 4-5 years. Gregory will keep his position as Music Director and Conductor of the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra as well as his other Artistic Director and conducting positions in Europe.

Additionally, Vajda’s one act opera Transporters (Fuharosok), based on the novel by world-renowned Hungarian author Peter Esterházy, has been awarded Classical Composition of the Year by Hungarian copyright association ARTISJUS.
